.Easy there, killer. He didn't say he was clueless and needs all the help he can get. He just asked for advice and some pics. Relax.karnsatron said:You are at the point that you are using a SMIM and you don't even know how to put one on? Wow, just wow. WTF

karnsatron said:Yeah my car is stock just because I don't feel like putting all the mods in my profile. You are a genius. I've done more work on these cars than you could imagine. (Not saying that's a lot)
Edit: If you've never done something as simple as replacing an intake manifold on a 4g63, I don't see you being at the point that you need a $500 SMIM. But maybe I'm way off base here.
Maybe he doesn't do his own work on his car, but he wants to give this a shot. We all have to start somewhere, yo... just like you did. I too can take my intake mani off with ease, but being rude about it is uncalled for.karnsatron said:Yeah my car is stock just because I don't feel like putting all the mods in my profile. When I did it, I had to take my throttle-body off, fuel rail, all the electrical harnesses, fuel injectors, coil-pack, plug wires... etc. Then, un-bolt three or four from the top, then 3 from underneath with a 14 mil. There's a shield in the way, too. Oh, and taking off the downpipe makes it A LOT easier. Hope that helps at all. It's not bad at all. Just be patient.GstRacer said:you know thanks a lot guys, i do almost all the work i can to my car myself but when ive never taken off the mani before and the magnus isnt a simple bolt in i wanted to know about certian things like the egr and coolant block offs. and you shouldnt knock someone for trying to learn how to do something or learning how something works thats what it's all about . we cant just learn it all overnight, to those that help thanks alot.

but good luck with it don't listen to people in here half of the people in here have not even broken 14's yet
Take the head off? I hope you're joking. It took me about an hour to take mine off. Take the head off...dsmrunaway1 said:it is pretty close to impossible to take the stock manifold off the car without the head off...esp with a 2g the engine bay is so crapmed compared to a 1g...lemme know how that goes...because i did a smim on my 1g and i did not even think bout taking the stock im off cause it looks difficult...of course i had a better excuse to take off my head...hks' 272s manley spings and retainers, 1mm os valves and guides...but good luck with it don't listen to people in here half of the people in here have not even broken 14's yet

GstRacer said:are you for real?? how are you gonna say that an intake mani is gonna hurt performance?? more air is always better and before this mani i'm runing about 350 whp so my stock throttle body and intake mani are hurting me right now, cant get enough air in. so explain to me why it will hurt me???
hellotbone said:I used a civic batter in my car too. My setup is a Dejoon tool S pipe and the Brode upper IC pipe. I cut 2" off the brode pipe and I cut the TB flange from the s pipe and had to rotate it about 30* and reweld it to bring the s pipe back high enough to mate to the UICP. Took me about 20 mins to get the stock manifold off and about 15-20 install the magnus. Then the S pipe modding etc it takes a bit of fab time.
. I always take 15 minutes just to get that bottom row of bolts off without chewing up my hands too bad.Eclipsei95cl said:350whp on your 16g? wheres the dyno sheet?
If your making 350whp right now I do not think your hurting because 350whp on a 16g is a pretty good number.
If your really want to get into an argument put that intake manifold on and report back. Then lets see how it performed.
