I feel dumb for asking this but I am a newb. I have a Walbro 255 hp fuel pump with the rewire. I use the stock FPR. Do I need the Areomotive FPR. is the stock one fine? Will I run into problems down the road. Thanks.

You need an AFPR. Under boost, especially 16+psi you will overrun the stock FPR and run so rich as to misfire and blow black smoke, go try it! I use the AFPR that is sold by www.fullthrottlespeed.com which is a bolt on unit that goes for $145. when they are in stock. Mark
PS: An AFPR is also another tuning device!

Hit it on the mark, I am running into that problem right now. I have the same fuel pump that you have, but with 550's and an AFC II. If I try to run over 16 pounds, the car sounds like it is slightly backfiring up top. Just thought that I would throw that in.

yes a FPR is needed, unless you wanna run a 190 pump 15psi-ish all day.

also, sorry to ask this in this thread, but is the Rewire kit absolutely needed? i just ordered a 255 HP pump, and AFPR kit, but i didnt' get a rewire kit. Is it realy need in this kind of setup? will the HP pump make up for the less- voltage or shit like that? thanks.

I have the 255 and do not run the re-wire kit but I have a wideband a/f and am sure I have plenty of fuel, can run richer than a 10:1 if I want to! probably fine without a rewire. mark

I would defintily do the rewire. Its cheap easy peace of mind. As of right now I only run 15/16 psi. I will not any higher until I get a data logger and a new exhaust. This is my daily and I can't afford to mess it up by turning the boost up too much too earily.
