What kit would you recomend using the GM mass blow thew set up. I am looking for a sparco street core and 2.5" piping. I was also going to run the air filter down in the fender. Thanks for your help

What do you guys think of the quality of the extreme intercoolers compared to a sparco core??

its spearco! If you want it to work really well you should just buy the core(216 is the best) and then have custom pipes made, or buy a nice one from one of the vendors that have the option of using the gm mas in a blow through configuration.

hey on this topic, im kinda new to DSM's im more of an SR20 Nissan guy, and i myself have Turbo'd 3 vehichles in my time, and seen many more, but all nissans, and all nissans that i have had expirience with have all had the MAF right after the filter, and before the turbo, what i have found that you guys call draw through, why do you guys all do blow-through instead, what are the benefiets over draw through, cause i just dont get it?????

thanks for the help

All stock cars are draw through, filter > MAF > turbo. What are the benefits? None. Most people do blow-through instead of draw through, cause you can vent to atmosphere. :thumb:

thanks, thats awesome im gonna change over my bro's car cause its a bi*** with atmospheric blowoff on an air metered car, thanks for the info

Not just to blow off to the atmosphere. Also opens the intake to the turbo even more. Gives the ECU an even more accurate info as to the amount of air entering the intake with the MAF closer to the intake. Mark

incorrect there is more reasons than just venting and their are benefits. Less restriction for the turbo to have to fight against = faster spool up. the gm mas is way more accurate than our maf(not saying ours is bad). Less boost leaks to look for. For the 1g guys the stock maf is easily overun so this is a great upgrade. and for the ricer in all of us it let's us vent.

Nice! I learn something new all the time in this place :shhh: That's why I like DSMTuners. :)

1stgensleeper - I apologize for the misinformation. I always figured GM MAF is mainly for venting.

If your up for an hour drive to Rockford, there is a new shop that builds custom IC for dsm's as well as the piping, FMIC, SMIC, Blow thew they do it all. I have a Large FMIC they built for me with the blow threw piping that works great! If you can do without your car for a few days they can even install everything for you.

The shop is called 4 Power Products.
If you want directions to check it out let me know.

Blow thru isnt the great invention ever. You can vent, but be careful whenever you drive your car in high humidity. Blow thru will not be the same day to day.

I wouldnt use most factory MAS in a blow through setup, the boost will destroy the MAS. Get the GM MAS if you wanna do it.

boost will not destroy the mas, as a matter of fact a few people have used stock 2g maf's in blow through configurations but they tend not to read so accurately becuase of the way the sensor works.
