Dawson Creek,
While I was randomly going for a drive today I noticed that every once and a while when i would step on the brake, a high pitch squealing noise came from what i think is my brakes. I figured maybe the pads were getting low so I checked it out and there fine... I'm not to sure what it is so i thought i would give u guys a try.

thanks

Kyle either excessive brake dust or possibly pads not seated and moving a bit. There are products to attach to the back of the pads to pevent the squealing or you were right the first time and you are needing new pads as the metal tab that lets you know it's time is warning you. Mark

there should be a metal tab on your brakes that tells you that youre low on pads.that or just give you wheels a really good cleaning.and if your pads are fine and you still hear that noise they make a gel sub stance you can apply to your brakes which makes it stop making noises.good luck man. :thumb:

Try bending the warning needles on your pad back (away from rotor)
I hope you meant to say " and go replace your pads as soon as possible". If his warning squealers are squealing he needs to perform some maintenance, don't just bend them back. But other than the wear indicators, it could be the surface of the rotors and the pad are glazed. Cheap pads, and/or aggressive driving can cause this. Having the rotors turned and lightly sanding the pads can fix this.

hey guys,
thanks for all the advice. I get off work early tonight so I am going to take the wheels off and give them a closer look to see if there getting low and to check for dust. Other than that though my car has been treating me good.

If your pads and rotors are in good shape and you're not seeing foreign matter on the contact surface, removing the pads and coating the caliper side of the pads with this stuff can quiet them down.
