Searching around most people with stock internals go with a mitsu multi layer HG. I also hear some people say not to get a cometic, because its too thick or somthing. Here's my setup, and maybe some of you can suggest what I should do.

Stock head (no work done), soon to have arp head studs, stock 7-bolt block and bottom end
50-trim--going 20-22psi pump, 26-27psi on race gas
272/272
dsmlink
3" exhaust, sbr manifold, 1g TB, fmic

So should I get the mitsu metal multilayer hg, the cometic metal hg, or the cometic high pressure hg. I dont care about the price in between them I just want a hg that will hold my boost, and install corectly.

Well if yuo go with a metal head gasket you are going to have to make sure that the block and head are flat to get a good seal.

Well, I think I have to get a metal HG for my setup. The only non-metal HG I saw was the factory replacement, and they say thats for low boost applications. And shouldn't my head/block surface be nice and flat anyway since I never even touched it?
So I gotta order one within the hour. Should I go with the mitsu metal multilayer, or the cometic metal HG?

No. Not necessarily. The head can warp slightly even when you remove it. Especially if its untorqued improperly.

just check your head to make sure its within spec, its alot harder to warp the deck since its cast iron. but the aluminum head warps alot easier. but just check to be on the safe side

i think its pretty much preference and what your willing to pay. the cometic i think cost less than the mitsu MLS HG. but ive been using the good ole mitsu MG and ive had no problems with it. and i will continue to buy and use the MLS from mitsu.

I talked to the guy over at ffwdconnection.com and he said SCE has a new headgasket out for our cars that is better than any available. Its gonna cost like $143 but its the strongest available. Email the guys over there for more info on this.
