K i was trying to install my evo 02 housing and i ran into 2 problems which i think i can fix?

1) the stud/nut i replaced with a stcok 02 bolt, just that i cut the bolt to fit? I was wondering if i can still use that bolt?

2) the downpipe gasket is 2 1/2" but the threads don't match up with the o2 housing, i was wondering if i can modifie the wholes using a drill so that they will fit?

The best thing to do is to get the evo flange and have it welded to your down pipe.
I had the RRE down pipe and i got the flange with the housing and had i put on.

the gaskest are alot bigger on the evo 3 02 and dosnt match well with the downpipe.

Not sure if this is a question or statement, but if the bolt fits and can be properly torked, then use it.

Gaskets don't have threads though I'm assuming you're trying to modify your stock gasket to the EVO housing. Just slot the holes in the gasket.

Just a word of advice. When people have to spend more than a few seconds trying to understand your post, you either get made fun of, chastized by a moderator or ignored altogether. I'm feeling particualrly nice today so though I'd help ;)

k never mind the cut bolt won't turn in.

i'm trying to install evo02 housing on my evo 16g, and the evo 16g didn't come with a stud in the turbine housing. Should i just go to the dealer and pick up a stud and a nut?? or is there a better way? hope it is clear enough now

go to any store that has bolts and nuts and get some. and some lock washers. ACE hardware has a good selection, as well as Orchard Supply. though Lowes and HomeDepot usually lack on the bolt/nut iasle, its always messy and missing stuff i usually need.

i got fresh bolts/nuts for the turbo-o2 flange and for the o2-dp flange. grade 8 if you can.

you might be putting the cart before the horse here. are you sure your downpipe will clear correctly? the exit angle is different from 1/2g housings, and if your downpipe is not SPECIFICALLY made for the evo 2 housing(and, afaik, rre is the ONLY company that makes the correct downpipe), it will jam itself up against the transfer case BIG TIME. certified bs'd me, and told me it would fit. all they did was use a different flange, so it did fit on the evo housing, but that sucker was crammed against the transfer. the rre pipe is a perfect fit.

ya i have a 2.5" down pipe with the "slotted' flange which is show on rre web site. they say it will fit on the down pipe, but puts extra stress on the flex pipe.
