alright so i was browsing around in the classifides and came across the club mitsubishi fmic... i went to the website and checked it out... WOW 480 plus shipping for fmic and piping... it'll bolt up to my uicp and ill just need to get a j-pipe... probably end up costing me about $600 alltogether put on. i did a quick search on it and couldnt find any results or if anyone had started a discussion on it... has anyone bought this fmic and tried it out yet? the good and the bad on it? is there a forum that i missed and can get a link to if this is a repost? ive been in the market for a fmic kit and didnt like anyone's pricing so i was thinking about going the custom route, but this might just be a little easier on me and my wallet... any input is appreciated... :thumb:
the only things that i didnt like about it are that its only 2.75" thick... which could be good b/c i wouldnt hafta cut my bumper (correct me if im wrong) and the inlet "U" pipe looks pressbent to me... maybe just the picture... but if its mandrel thats all good
check it out and let me know what you all think

thanks a lot

Looks like the JR/johnny racecar FIC.Probably OK for a 16G but not much bigger.

I dont know, I think you could be better off buying the IC from ebay. 32x12x3 and doing custom mandrel pipes. IC sells for 250 max and piping with clamps and hoses will cost like 150. its up to you. :thumb:

yeah thats about the size of fmic that i wanna get... mishimoto bar and plate ... ebay is great... that fmic doesnt look like it'll do much better than a 16G and im not gonna have mines on for too much longer... thanks for the input...
anyone actually have one of these on their cars and like it / dislike it??? or use any turbo bigger than a 16G and have efficient cooling?

thanks

FYI.. the JR Street core (which is slightly smaller in dimension) flows enough for 450HP (650CFM) which is plenty for a 16G. However, I've not seen efficiency #s for this core so may/may not flow as much. Price is nice, though if upgrading turbos shortly may want to consider getting a larger one now.

Typical 50-Trim FMICs flow >800 CFM (500HP).

FYI.. the flow rating of FMIC cores are generally at ~1-2% pressure drop. If you flow half the CFMs then the presure drop is halved (at the expense of slightly more lag).

I have the 32x12x3. with custom pipes. 2 1/2" from turbo to IC and 3" from IC to throttle. the IC flows great. spooling time improved over my old FMIC. easy to mount on a 2g. and I have it with a 57trim. :thumb:

the intercooler goes up to were the headlights begin.

looks like a nice setup to me assuming your not going with a HUGE turbo. i'd think 16g and smaller and this would be a great kit for a great price!

i'm just finishing up my FMIC install with my own 2.5" pipes, and an Ebay 12x24x3 core, and i've got all of $500 into it already with all the couplers, pipes, shipping, etc... and i had to source it all myself. had i seen this, i'd get it. my EVOIII B16g would be just fine with this kit

LOL nice PS armandovivoni. Or was that done in MS Paintbrush? :tease:

Anyway, I was talking to Tyson (the admin over at clubmitsubishi) and he said that he runs one of these same FMIC's on his 10 sec 1g. Its not a bad price, but I would still like to see short route piping.

Just FYI. DO NOT BUY THAT INTERCOOLER KIT FROM CLUBMITSUBISHI!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought it almost 2 months ago and still have not gotten my piping. Everytime I get ahold of him he has some other excuse to why it isnt at my house. I am not the only one. I have talked to about 5 people who have bought this kit from him and everyone has experienced the same, if not worse (Nothing). It is a scam. Tyson is a lying POS that needs his face kicked to the ground.
