Man, I just found the original gtech pro's on ebay going for around 35 bucks brand new. I remember those things used to cost sooo much. Does anybody have these? I don't really care about the old red letter screens, but are the readings pretty accurate?

I might have to pick one up if they work!

I played with one for a while and it was pretty cool, but honestly I don't think it was accurate. I have never played with it at the track to measure it against a time slip but that could be cool.

Only problem with these is you find guys doing 1/4 miles on the street and speeding etc.. It's kinda sucks that way cause they are dangerous.

You have a point. Honestly I'd just like to have one so I could see my gains. I'm more concerned with my 0-60 and then the improvements I'd notice after mods. I may try the 1/4 mile a couple times but I'd just rather take it to the dragstrip anyways. wayyyyy funner :thumb:

So did it seem relatively accurate? Because I figure it's actually safer than trying to launch/clutch/hit 60/ and check your watch for a rough idea rather than push a button and go.

I used one of the newer ones a little bit, and for the life of me couldn't figure out how the damn thing knew when I hit 60? I know it measures RPM (seemed fairly accurate from what I can remember) but I still dont see how it would know when 60 came around without knowing final drive ratios, etc. The mount for it was a POS and wouldnt stay in position, which is fairly critical for accurate readings. I just borrowed it, but if i would have payed for it I would have been dissapointed.

I have the one with the blue screen and the black casing... Its.. uh... pretty hit or miss.. Sometimes its accurate *or close to it* and other times it is WAAaayyyy off.. but when its wrong, you basically know *ie 800hp with a t25*... But the tach mode and shiftlights are awsome!!!!.. The shiftlights are VERY precise... Very VERY precise.. there are 4 lights, the first comes on at 500 before the shift point.. then another lights up at 200 before.. then all of them light up.. its so clear during the day.. and accurate... the end

I have one of those and it's pretty accurate.sometimes it does do the hit or miss thig, but most of the time it's good.when I had My gs I got 117hp,and I dynoed it the next day and I got 120 hp,so yeah pretty close. The other day I put it on my tsi awd and on 0-60 It read 6.12 sec. at 13 psi.So it' seems pretty good buy to see what you gain.I got mine last year for 45 bucks, like 60 shipped.neat little toy.
