ok here goes....
I just came back from gettin my trans tune up. (by the way is it true 94 AWD A/T don't have trans filters?)
Well anyway...for the past few days i've notice this lil ticking sound...when idleing and at low speed. I always hear about people talking about their lifters ticking. So i tryed to see if i could locate the sound. It didn't sound like if it was coming from the head, so i guessed it was a heathsheild or somthing. But when I went to the shop 2day. I asked the guy to look for the sound. He called me over and told me the sound was comin from the oil pump... i looked and it does sound n feel like its coming from the oil pan.
So of course i came home and looked on the tuner to see if ne1 else had this problem. and i found this...

From not2fast:
" if it's valve tick, as it most likely is, use a thicker viscosity oil. as engines get older their tolorance get bigger, 'cause of wear. by using a thicker oil, such as sae 30 or 20w50, your oil pump will be able to move more oil to the places it is needed the most...aka the lifters. the reason more oil will be moved is 'cause the oil is less likely to blled past the 'gears' in the oil pump. i have a 96 GS with 120k on it, if i use 10w30 it ticks, but when i use sae 30 or 20w50 it shuts the fu*k up. fyi.. i use sae 30 in the winter and 20w50 in the summer/spring... "
SO i was wondering do yous guy think i might be having the same problem. and can be fixed by changing my oil?.. or do u think its just my oil pump being shoot and i have to replace it?.....thanks for the help in advance.... Please help ASAP need this work for work... can't have the engine die on me........ do u guys think its safe to drive for a few days or should i just park it n call out sick?.....thanks again
