c.b.s,
Hello,
I was wondering. My car 1992 eagle talon TSI with slight mods (dejon tools hard intake pipe, K&N filter, MBC, Small 16g) constantly blows white smoke. I recently replaced the headgasket and have perfect conpression, also all upper gaskets where replaced. Secondly a new small 16g was recently installed (14b barfed out). What could be the cause of this smoke, ive been doing some reasearch on this site and have come across a few ideas:
1. valve stem oil seals
2. PCV valve
* im ruling out headgasket and turbo seals becasue they where recently replaced!.
thanks again.................mike :dsm:

It sounds like your throttle body is leaking. There is a chamber in there with an expansion bulb controlled air bypass valve for cold fast idle. Engine coolant circulates in that chamber. A cracked o-ring will leak coolant into your intake manifold, causing the smoke. I've seen this happen twice. To check it, disconnect and plug the coolant lines going to the throttle body. If the smoke stops, you found it. Good luck...

update:
I just took off the exhaust manifold and 2 of the cylinder ports on head and corresponding 2 on exhaust manifold where wet. I couldnt tell whether it was oil/gas/or coolant the carbon in there kinda made it hard to decide????
