Anybody Using Greddy Type R Bov

How do you like or not.

I'm not too fond of it. Currently I'm running an HKS SSQV, which I think is one of the better units on the market. From what I've seen and heard the Type R likes to either leak under high boost, or leak through the diaphram. Another thing I don't like is that the valve is open too long, that can cause stalling and/or backfiring on a MAF equipped vehicle. The SSQV is only open for a second or so, so open long enough for a quick shift, but not too long when coming to a stop. I do like the sound of a vented type R, though.

The Type-R is not very useful for low boost applications.

It is also not easily recirculated.

No complaints from me. It has a little lower tone sound and it works pretty good for 15psi I'm running. It definately sounds better when I hit 15 compare to 10 or less.

How do you have it vented. Back to intake. If so how is it done do you have to use an adaptor that came with it.

Since I don't use MAF it's vented to atm. I know somebody who used an adapter and vented back into intake without any problem. I think those adapters just screw in.

I have been hearing some things about the SSQV. Some people say that it surges...Is this true? I don't reaaly see how it would thoug. It looks like it would vent enough pressure to the atmosphere...but, hey, whatever. I currently have a HKS Super BOV (OLD SCHOOL!!) that I am reluctant in putting it on for that reason. Any opinions?
