Turbo Question

I bought a used turbo which was said to have 1500 miles or so on it. It's a T25 that is stock out of a 1997 GS-T (well, stock out of any 2G Turbo)

Anyways, I bought this to replace my broken turbo, which is dead. So I get it and I check to see how tight everything is, and it all feels good. I bring it to the shop and they say it has some small shaft play.


If it has very minimal shaft play, is it really going to die quickly? or will it last for a good number of miles.

Because I'm poor, and don't know how to install em.


I was going to go with a T28, but I couldn't afford the $750, so I spent $200 on what I thought would be a perfect shape low mile used turbo.

Your other option is to install a used 14b. You can pick the up for around $150 and an install kit will cost $200-$300.

But then you will be ready to upgrade to a 16g for only $600-$700 more.
