ok i was looking in the summit sport compact catalog that just came out
and i they have this thing you put around your turbo, i guess to insulate it. but they claim that it reduces boost lag. is this true? and if so how much would this help, and how does it work

I think it's a waste of money...and why is everyone so concerned about lag???Whenever there's any sprirted driving going on, I'm always over 4k rpm anyway

This is what I heard about the bags. I does help with lag becuase it keeps the heat in the turbo which relates to energy created to push the blades, but it creates so much heat it will crack the exaust housing on the turbo prematurely. So they are mostly for race use where you dont care how long a turbo lasts.

I dont really know that anwser but if you look at turbo f1 and cart cars they have them on their turbos so they must be worth something if they work on the most advanced cars in the world.

They do work, and 83 is right, turbo doesn not run off exhaust gass veloctiy rather then heat, and the bag does keep heat int, I haven't heard about turbine cracking but it is a good possiblity, might be a good idea to use it on race day but not daily driving.
