Can u put a Gs-t Engine in my Rs... like a straight swap, and if so will the rest of the car hold up and were can i get one???

Welll right but i can basically do it without addin a thing??? and how much are we talkin about?

umm not really considering taking the Bomex body kit and the rims and everything else off... plus a 4 15" custom fiberglass sub enclosure our and puttin everything back to factory could really suck... so does anyone have a price or is there liek a starter turbo kit i can get... liek sumthin for small boost... but i can get the turbo affect!???

Should have been smarter from the beginning and instead of ricing out your slow NT bought a Turbo model. I know how it goes though, you wanted a 2G to rice out but you couldn't afford a turbo model and all the rice for it, (#@%#@%#@% body kit and he rest of the worthless #@%#@%#@%#@%) so you bought a NT and now you want some speed. Live and learn RICER

You need to get the ECU and possibly the transmission. Its a Chrysler Engine, most likely a Chrysler Transmission they may not bolt together, but then again it may. Or the RS may house the Mitsu Transmission and the 420A maybe bolted to it. Look into it.

This was taken from another person's response. A shop was doing the conversion.

This current shop project is long and expensive. It will cost ~$6K-8K total. The entire wiring harness from a 4G63'ed 2G is needed, new motor mounts will be fabbed, the 4G63 and 5spd tranny are needed, fuel return line, gauge cluster, ECU, new K frame up front from a 4G63 car, new axles, and gobs of other little #@%#@%#@%#@% are all needed to do the swap. It's a huge project. It takes lots of time. I recommend the 420A turbo kit personally or buying a 4G63'ed 2G. It all depends on your situation though, as this guy wanted the swap even tho we tried to persuade him otherwise.

the engine and transmission on the NT's are Chrysler. the engine and transmission in the turbo models is Mitsubishi. in the NT's the transmission is on the driver's side. on turbo models, it's on the passenger side. the ECU is different also, so you'll need an entire wiring harness. these are just the major parts, there are also a lot of little things you'd need also.

if you want a turbo that bad, get a turbo kit. for 5psi of boost, expect to pay about $2K for a stage 1 kit.

Well ill probably do that becuase there is sumoen in maine thats runnin the only turbo rs... and he is runnin like 12 psi that i know of on his stock engine and is runnin 220 hp without problems...
theres no turbo less than the hanh kit???
which is 2,250

Unless that guy's internals are built I SERIOUSLY DOUBT he is running 12psi. We put the Stage 2 Hahn Kit on my friends 97 RS and it's running 9 pounds and that's pushing the engine as is. Hahn states at 9 pounds of boost on an RS you should be able to run 13.7. But with all that junk you have in your car, like 4 15's (WHY? ) and the body kit and junk you would be lucky to hit low 15's. Believe me I know, I had 3 10's in my Corvette when I was 17 and it slowed my quarter time by almost a second. Just my .02 though, do what you want.

If you want a kit that costs less than the Hahn build your own. It's not that hard. There isn't much to a turbo. Get the manifold that will fit your car, fuel pressure reg, 14b turbo (or 16G if you can afford it), fuel lines, oil lines, 1G DSM Intercooler, etc. It can all be done for under $1000 ($1400 if you want the 16G). I know we did it on a couple Honda Civics.

Can u give me sum websites were i can buy all that stuff... and possibly a list of everything ill need!
Thanx much!

Seriously man, it's a lot of work. Have you ever done a project like this before? I'm not a mechanic type person, but I replaced my turbo myself once (It was "easy" all I had to do was put a 16g in where the 14b was, a direct swap) But it took a whole weekend.

Unless you have some experience on really working on cars (the engine and stuff, kudos for the body kit and whatnot, but working on the guts is different) I'd just leave it alone, and be happy that you have a car that works.

Sorry to disappoint, but look at the reality of it all man. A friend of mine got sucked into upgrading a car that isn't really worth of it, and he puts thousands over and over into it, but he doesn't want to sell it now, cause he's put so much into it.

Yea well i plan on havin a mechanic i know at a local garage do it... so im not worried about that, thanx for ur thoughts tho, but id really like to get this done! so do any of u guys have hte info...

i wouldn't let a "mechanic i know at a local garage do it". most of them aren't going to know what half the parts are, much less which ones are different. i mean for godsakes the engine sits on the other side of the engine bay, how could it drop in with no mods??

it took me over a month to drop a turbo 4g63 into my nt 4g63. this isn't any easier than the guy wanting to drop a 4g63 into a civic. nothing is going to transfer over except maybe the brake master cylinder. hell even the alternator and #@%#@%#@%#@% will be different probably, not to even mention all the little wiring doo-dads.

if you still don't believe us have a guy with a turbo 2g pull up next to your car and both pop your hood, then start counting how many things are identical. mu guess is that under the hood you could count them on one hand.

yea but i really dont know what parts i need exactely can i get a list of every part i will need...

And I would say your better off turboing your car then dropping in a different motor. If you cant find a website you may have trouble making parts and fabricating mounts, ect. Good luck man. I was in your shoes with the speakers and a great spyder, then I saw it was going to be stupid to drop a new motor in. (And I have expericance with motor rebuilds & taking stuff apart)

I bought my GSX and saved my self sooooo much time and money.
