It could bve that the two big nuts inside your transmission that hold 5th on the shafts are coming loose...I could give you a hand if needed .. you can fix it with the transmission in the car It also could be other thigns tho

If it is, in fact, those nuts, get that fixed asap. A few years back I had no 2nd gear in my car and had a tranny shop tear it apart and get me an estimate on repairs. After the $2000 estimate was given I told them to just put it back together as is. Apparently they didn't torque those nuts down right. About a month later I started noticing my shifter moving back and forth when I got on & off the gas in 5th gear, not long after 5th gear ended up in my rear view mirror on the highway after it shot out the side of my transmission. WAY NOT COOL

that would be awesome.... can i give you a call sometime then... do you know if those nuts are touched when a LSD is put in... ive had a really bad experience with the shop that put in my clutch and LSD... this would be the fourth thing tht has screwed up because of them..

yea you can gimme a call ...send me a PM but yes those nuts are taken off when installing a LSD you have to take the rear trans case off ... then those 2 nuts have to come off in order to remove 5th gear to split the other parts of the transmission case to put a LSD in
