I may have the chance of having a few of my friends help build a 2.4L stroker engine. However they have been advising me not to build one.

One of the reasons is that it will be too torquey. That I will eating transmission left and right.

While the other reason is that I will need to machine new oil squirters/jets into the block.

I was reading around and got some information from a good source regarding the oil squirters/jets.

Having these would aid in the cooling of the pistons but less oil pressure for the bearings. The other option was to not have them machined into the block and go for ceramic coated forged pistons. As this will help with the temperatures. And have more oil pressure available in other engine components.

So what should I do?

Should I not have oil squirters/jets in the car and get ceramic coated pistons, or should I spend the few hundreds to have the oil jets in? Also in the future I may do some road racing where the engine will be running in high RPMs for maybe an hour at times.

OR

Just get the tried and proven 6-bolt 4g63.

actually i have been talking to friends of mine up in NY. that have gone 10.8 and 10.5 with 100% stock bottom ends. im sure the little wisemen or whatever wont agree. you're stock 6 bolt bottom end will support 450-500 wheel HP with good fuel maps. damn i wish i could get them to post here. anyway i would totally rethink building you're bottom end right now just my .02 what's better then advice from those who have actually put up huge numbers. Instead of those who think they know how because they read a million Internet posts. not trying to knock anyone, its just that those who have gone fast that i know. there advice contradicts 90% of the BS posted here.

good point.

Not sure what your ultimate goals are or what tuning access you have available. You can do a lot w/ the stock motor. I do know that the extra .3L on a stroker motor makes a BIG difference. Yes, they have more torque. No, they probably shouldn't spin 8000+RPM. As far as breaking parts, that will depend on how you drive. Drive it like a raped ape and you will break stuff, stroker or not.

You can have oil squirters on a stroked 4G63 motor. The oil pressure isn't that big of an issue w/ our oil pumps. They have tremendous flow and volume. Even at the head where the turbo pickup is. If this is true on a stock motor, then a stroked motor w/ oil squirters will be the same.
