I have a 91 talon awd tsi. I recently bought an intercooler core: http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=2116&
I have been looking every where for a custom piping kit for it. Maybe some one can help with a site or any thing. I have a 3" gm maf and i will be running a blow through set up. I have a 14b turbo for now.
thanks a lot jon

Dude, I did the same thing, bought a badass core cheap, and wanted someone to custom build me a set of piping. I dont know how much decent custom fab runs in your area but where I am at its pretty high, and will not save me money versus buying a premade kit. Honestly, if I could go back and do it again I just would have bought the entire slowboy kit (unless they have fitment problems which nobody will really say cuz they sponsor the site and we cant say anything bad about them), it is priced so much better than everything else out there especially with the quality clamps, couplers ancd core you get. If I were in your shoes, (and I wish I were cuz that slowboy kit is badass imo and wasnt out when I was buying mine) I would just give slowboy a call and see if they can accomodate your setup.

I would have recommended the same thing - buy the piping kit already made up. Makes it much easier to get to fit right.

Reviewing a product is not the same as bashing a vendor. It doesn't matter who sponsors the site. As long as you don't complain about a vendor's customer service, you're fine. Talking about the parts is fair game. In fact, we encourage people to write reviews about parts they install so we can hear about fitment issues and how the part performed with their application:

I bought a precision core and made my own short route piping. I bought bends and couplers / reducers from roadrace and cut them and marked them how I wanted everything. Then I had my machine shop weld it all up for me. Cost of piping ( used all aluminum ) and couplers / clamps / reducers was a little under $200. Then I paid my machine shop another $120 to weld it all up and it fit PERFECT. I chose to do it this way so I could have a badass core, run a gm maf / translator, use a tial bov and also do short route piping using the size piping I want and not a vendor chose already. My total cost was $500 for the intercooler, $200 for pipes, $120 for welding and I couldn't be happier. If you use aluminized steel it would be a lot cheaper for the piping and welding, but unless you paint it you will have rust problems in the future then. Aluminum is lighter as well.

for mine i decided which size pipe i was going to run ( 2.5 ) and then got the reducers off ebay for cheap $25 with ship included. went to a local muffler shop have them cut and weld my pipings so i wont have bends( minimal bends) + plus spot weld the tip of the pipes so it wont pop off during high boost. all for 70 bucks, which was good for a one day process. when i got home i polished it to chrome and made it look worth $200. boy im glad i save a hunered bucks... and if you see my piece and you wont even know it was from a local muffler you think it was a expensiive piece.

if you decide to do it from a local muffler shop. just tell them if possible little or no bends, oh yea and cut and weld so you wont have your pipes denting in messing up the inside diamater. :thumb:
