I just put a jdm galant vr-4 motor in my 90 GSX. The Japanese oil filter housing does not have an oil pressure sender. I have had an electrical autometer oil pressure gauge for quite some time that I never installed. I want to put that in now and there is an oil galley plug right near the exhaust manifold that I was thinking of using. Do you think being about 6 inches from the manifold will heat the sender too much? I have the heat shield on my exhaust manifold and am thinking about fabricating a small heat shield for the sender if I use it there. I realize I could also drill and tap the oil filter housing or swap in my old US oil filter housing, but I would prefer the ease of using the oil galley spot right in the front of the motor. Opinions and comments will be helpful in making my decision. Thanks.
