I need to cut the elbow off of my big28 and have it welded back on facing the drivers side. My question is do I have take the compressor side off to have this done or can it be welded while the turbo is together. I was worried about the heat from the welding hurting something else. I know the turbo gets pretty hot but I wouldn't imagine it gets as hot as it would when welding right? I don't know what do ya'll think? I'm also thinking of cutting it off and using a 90 degree piece of pipe or hose and clamping it on. Do you think it will blow off the part on turbo since there won't be a bead to keep it on?
