Ok i know there's been a lot of intake threads and i've read them all. But i'm a little confused on a few things. I was gonna hack the air can. But i heard that i shouldnt cause i'd just be sucking in warm air. I want to get a bigger intake pipe with a K&N filter. Do the intake pipes come with heat shields. Just clear it up for me. What all do i need for a good intake. I was looking at some dejon tool intakes and K&N filters. Is that all i need?

For your car, if you want to do an intake pipe that will last the lifetime of the car, go ahead and pick up one of the Dejon Tool 3 inch intake pipes, and simply use the factory Air Can and bolt it to it. You can hack the aircan, but yes, you may be subjected to increased hot air. However, with a few bux and some patience, you can build an aluminum box to block off sources of hot air and channel cold air towards the filter.
