Anyone here has an Internal wastegate RS49 yet?
well i got mine yesturday, an Tryin to figure how to mount the actuator.

Anyone has pix of how there's are mounted, my guess as of now is that it mounts to the downpipe but i'm not sure.
an also, does the actuator push or pulls?

The actuator mounts on the back of the turbo. The upper front(closest to the radiator)t bolt that attaches the O2 housing to the turbo outlet. Use that to mount the actuator on the O2 housing.

Note* Notice how the wastegate flapper opens when the actuator arm is PUSHED from the back of the turbo, instead of from the front? This might help you understand.

I just bolts onto the o2 sensor housing and points the opposite dirrection as the stock actuator. I think AGP designed it this way so that there is no clearance problems with the actuator and the passenger side fan. Good idea but I dont like having to run my boost controller hose that far.

I too am having a problem with this...the hole for the actuator bractet simply doesnt like with the O2 housing hole. Only way it will work is if i bend the rod a little which im not comfortable doing. Any pics will help greatly.

this is what it looks like

did the actuator arim have to be bent slightly to fit on the flapper arm? mine doesnt line up and the only way i can get the pin on is by bending the actuator arm which i dont feel confident doing. I may just drill a new hold on the actuator bracket so it lines up better.

i have the rs49 too. took me forever to figure it out. I dont think I like it tho. I haven't ran it because i'm doing some work to my car, but I have a feeling that I wont like it. The wastegate flapper also doesn't open up as much as it should. Im going to grind out the spot behind it.

Yeah you need to drill a hole as close to the bend as you can to get it to line up properly. This is my 2nd set-up like this and both the same, right Drew?! If you can use a allen head bolt to get even closer as the bolts for the 02 housing limit how close you can get but I am 95% there with mine, actually ended up slotting the think as the holes ran together. oh damn, i was considering getting one of these to... didnt realize it would be such a pita to setup though.

I would not let that stop you! Simple. You could heat the nracket and bend it or even make AGP aware of the issue and ask them to adjust it for you!

It is kind of silly that its so off in the first place....I mean AGP SHOULD check to make sure it lines up before they start releasing it to the public. Simple fix, but still something that should have been taken care of before it reaches our front door.

I was going to list some vendors and the issues that I have had and am still having. This is not the forum for that. I will say I buy OEM when at all possible. I will bein contact with AGP today and will bring this to their attention. Mark

let us know how that goes. i don't want to order this thing until this issue is resolved.

how does it bolt onto the o2 housing? do i have to drill a hole in the o2 housing?

The actuator bracket bolts to the 02 housing using the top existing bolt. I will drop a line here on Ben's response from AGP. Mark

hmm, very interesting. now do both the 1gs and the 2gs have the problem with the actuator not lining up?

Ben would like to see some pics. Please email to [email protected] It is not a huge deal and did not stop me from my 2nd AGP turbo. In fact I would not have bought it if it did not have the beefy Bullseye turbine housing. I do not have a digital but have asked a friend to come out. Anyone else that can send a pic? Mine has already been drilled so a before would be nice. mark

You guys have any reviews on the AGP RS49? Thinking about buying one and would like to know how everyone likes thiers.

Thanks
Ben

My belief with their internal wastegate solution is to aid in boost control on larger turbos .. I don't believe there are too many turbos the size of the rs49 and rs60 that can be run successfully using an internal wastegates.

I think it is pretty cool, but if believe most will still choose the external wastegate option when money is not a factor as that has long been considered the best means for boost control on larger turbos.

I'm sure that Ben @ AGP turbo will chime in on this matter and also clarify any points that need clarification.

Thanks,

yea I got it mounted, took awhile to adjust the since wastegate since it kinda hot to adjust when u just made a pull. I'll post pix this weekend.

floor it in third, I get 10psi by 3k and 20psi at 3700-3800 ish.

i'm on stock unported manifold, with a leak at the between head and manifold. an i'm on the stock T28 turbo to manifold gasket which i'm sure isn't helping my spool. :)
