Yesterday driving to work my car started stalling out , spitting 100% black smoke throu the tail pipe and could not go over 5 mph.

I changed the coilpack, resistor box/pack? and the cas ( my problem is fixed)

My questions are:

1)if the cas is bad the car will just turn off correct?
2)what does the resistor ,transistor? pack do?
3)how do i check the coil pack? and is there after market units that can rid me of the stock coil pack and maybe resistor box?

Another thing I JUST bought new ngk bllue wires about 1 month ago yesterday I checked the wries and they were already bad. What do u people use? I had a set of used magnacores I got from a friend they messed up quick too but I dont know if there trash or not I never bought a new set.

The resistor pack "balasts" the low impedance injectors so that they don't burn up the transistors in the ECU by drawing too much current.

The Power Transistor Module switches the coils on and off as directed by the ECU.
