1g hks cams 272 and timing,spark plugs ?

i just installed hks cams into the car today and it is set a stock timing 5*btdc...should i advance it or retard it any or leave it the factory setting?also what about the spark plugs 1 step or 2 steps colder ? this is the mods i have on the car if that helps..

Set it to recommended base timing and get some colder plugs. My choice is BPR7ES NGK's.

yes i have it set at base timing and running the ngk bpr7's should i run the ngk bpr8's

I doubt you need to run BPR8's. 7's are fine IMO

I'm running 50 trim with Crower stage II right now.

I don't know but my car doesn't seem to like alot of timing.

when i installed the cams today i had to take the cas off of coarse and when i put it back on it was at about 3-4 btdc and the idle was low and throttle response was slow...so i put it back to 5btdc seem to help a little...should i try to set it a little higher like 7 or 8btdc ? i know i ll see a lil more power on the bottom end but how much will i lose on the top by advancing it to 7 or 8 btdc ?

Did you reset the ECU? Always reset the ECU after the cam install. THe idle usually gets better once ECU relearn the new setup.

doh, i forgot to reset it...was tired (durrhhh) will reset it in the morning..thanks i totally would have forgot to do that...
