What gives the Greddy Type-S its distinct sound?

Like the title states, what gives the Greddy Type-S blow off valve its distinct "electronic" or "laser gun" sound? I'm using a 1G bov and I visually compared it to my friend's Type-S, and other than it being adjustable and having an external boost/vacuum reference port, they aren't too dissimilar. How can two so similar and seemingly simple devices sound so radically different? What does the greddy have that the 1G does not?

All I can think of is the Spring Setting and how it works and etc...

Other than that I do not really know. My Type-S has mostly has a two-part sound. One loud high pitched release and a really small quick release after that.

My friend has a Type-S on his TT Stealth and it sounds totally different. It has more of a gush sound and both of our Springs are tuned about the same. It varies from car to car and from ic piping to the next. That would be my logical guess.

so true. my friends MR2 is more of a distinctive staccato sound, if you will. mine is more of a long whistle.

as of why? i have no idea..

A good website that i found that shows you the distinctive sounds between cars is

They also even have mpeg's as well. Notice the type S sounds different on almost everycar and notice on the videos different cars also have there own mod's ie hard pipe compared to crappy stock piping.
