turbo toss up - need your help

daily driven 1995 GS-T
goal: mid-low 13 second quarter mile passes with a reasonably quick spooling turbo...i wouldn't mind getting rid of quick spool down low to prevent wheelspin in my 2wd.

current status:
k&n + cold air intake tube + heatshield, starion IC pressure sealed, ghetto rigged licp + ic outlet pipe, rre uicp, 1g bov, fresh clutch, fresh short block, rebuilt head, new stocker wires / plugs, 2.5" turbo back exhaust no cat, mbc, free mods

mods to get soon after turbo upgrade:
hard wired denso fuelpump, s-afc, later 550's

Save some money and get a ported small 16G. I think Pete is selling them small 16G without the turbine housing for like $400. He probably has the housings for cheap too. Have him rotate the compressor housing and put a 90 degree elbow on there and your set. For less money. Just a suggestion though.

*edit* or you could just get a 14B.

BIG 16g ported and clipped!
I would skipp the FP big28 and go with
a small 16g is tuff and will hang SBS on 1,2,3 gears.......
but under way a Big 16g will step out in 4th gear big time! and they spool relatively well.

I guess I'm semi partial to Big16g...............but it's AWESOME on the street.................
 
Personally I would say go with a Forced Performance Green turbo that should help get you down in the 12's at least.....I am still trying to decide on a turbo for my 99 GS-T so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. But I am leaning towards the FP Green turbo. Hope this helps you out.
 
well honestly ill tell you now ahead of time.. being FWD youll be in my ball park.. I wanted the same thing, high 12s to low 13s.. I dont know if Ill ever accomplish that being FWD, same thing with the 16G.. if you wanna go fast then get a bigger turbo and supporting mods in the first place.. if you wanna have good spool, incredible top end, and do it cheaply, the Big 28 isnt a bad idea
 
the green is way overkill for your goals. Either the t28 or the big 16 will please you fine. If you're going to get a big 16g though, get it clipped. It will cost you some spool time but help out a lot on top end.
 
MistaSparkles, what are you talking about...go with the Big16G, not the 28 because you will be dissapointed later? I've read like 2 of your post already and both of them couldn't be more way off base. 1st you said dont run 17psi on the big28 with pump gas, and now this. Get your facts together before you start posting. The big28 will flow the same as a big16G. I could easily say get the Big28 because if you get the Big16G you will want a bigger turbo, but that makes no sense whatsoever. The bonus for going with the 28 is that it looks stock and you don't need the "if new, 300 kit" you will need for the 16G, not to mention that you can run more boost on this turbo on pump gas. I've even ran 20lbs and didnt have any problems(ie no knock or high egt's).
