Resolved 2G Exhaust tone

I am looking to upgrade my exhaust, but I don't want that annoying bumblebee tone that I hear all the ricers with. Is there any systems that have a decent sound but doesn't compromise performance? I was looking at the Thermal R&D 3", what does that sound like?

I used a flowmaster muffler and a 4" tip with a complete 3" exhaust.I know flowmaster is not the BIG name brands and it doesn't look as flashy but it sounds great.It has a nice rumble to it at idle and when you stomop on it makes a loud growl.I like it

Flowmaster IS a very big name, but it's not good for turbo cars; it's meant for naturally aspirated cars. A Flowmaster is what's called a 'chambered' muffler, and it 'muffles' sound by causing the exhaust to hit several walls before exiting the tailpipe. You want a straight-through design muffler for a turbo car. Your car won't sound like a bumblebee because it's turbocharged. Go with the thermal, it sounds great. Ultraflo also sounds real nice.

Hey guys thanks for your thoughts. I know Flowmaster, because I have a set of their delta force race mufflers on my old '48 Coupe, they are great, but NOSLaser is right, I am looking for a straight through design for the least amount of restriction. I just wanted to know if it was going to sound like the Escort across the street with the coffee can on it. Thanks again.

I know that the flowmaster is not the best flowing muffler for our car but Mine was FREE and it sound very good

I just heard the thermal research. I didn't like the sound at WOT. sounded good at idle. The tip (4.5") was just HUGE. I thought it looked pretty ugly on a 2g. It is a hell of a good performance exhaust though.

I love my Thermal.... but yeah, I could do without the large tip. I also have to worry about small animals nesting all the way up to my DP if I park my car too long.

I have a 3" ATR welded from turbo back. I like it a lot but I can not throw a cat in without welding. I want to go with Apexi n1. Both systems sound good and n1 looks really nice.

Whats the differences betweem the N-1 and the Thermal?

I beleive the n1 has a smaller tip and a nicer tone.
