what is the cheapst way to build a 6bolt to handel 500whp is there a kit i could buy ?

can i keep the stock rods
what pistons should i use

is there any parts i could you from any other engine that are stock im looking for a cheap build up let me know guy thanks

im also planing to run nitrous and a 20g turbo with suporting mods :thumb:

If you can get 2g pistons out of a 95 dsm that will work of course. 95s have the best pistons because they are forged.youll need to get your 1g rods resized to fit the pistons but they will work. Slowboyracing.com sells a complete rebuild kit including or excluding pistons, rings and bearings. You have chioce of overbored pistons and overbored bearings for reground cranks. You might want to use a higher quality headgasket other than the topline gasket you get with the Slowboy rebuild kit. Like an oem mitsubishi multi layer gasket found on the evo I-iii. Or a cometic head gasket multilayer gasket. Look on Slowboy racing and other various dsm shopping sites you'll know what i'm talking about.

Oh yea you almost definitly want to use a forged piston if your planning on nitrous and a 20g. And while its apart put some stainless steel valves in it, I picked up a set for 130 dollars on ebay, swirl polished, so nice

FYI, 2G pistons are NOT forged. People use them because of the upped compression (8.5 to 1 vs. 7.8 to 1), and because they are cheap. Other than that, your info is good.

Original poster: you can get .020 over 8.5 to 1 Ross Pistons and Eagle Rods for about $100.00 more than it would cost to get new 1G rods mated to new 2G pistons, and the Ross/Eagle combo will handle much more power. Food for thought. Wiseco pistons are also quite good for the money.

Matt.

Yes I agree that a forged piston by wiseco is the best bang for buckl as cost vs a set of 2G pistons is minimal increase. 1G rods are cheap used and can handle a good amount of power, HOWEVER n2o increases torque dramatically and that i where a forged rod is def needed. If you want 500hp no N2O I would say 1G rods are fine, but with N2O or Higher RPM then forged rods are a necessity.

could some one give me a list of the cheapst aftermarket parts to by that will handel 500hp i dont know if ill even get to 500 hp but just in case i want to know i can so im going to build a spare block in my spare time :thumb:

Sounded like you were going to build a 2 pass motor and BANG!!
I am building a 6 bolt simply because I came into possession of a running motor with 86k miles on the clock.
First I began tearing it down/get an engine stand.
I am using WISECO's from Buschur, $399.w/rings-9:1 comp.
Complete OEM Gasket set- www.jnztunig.com -$172.
I have a 50 trim/you a 20G. what type 20G?
A Buschur stage2 head should do. $1200. + cams
I am using Crower stage 2 cams/$490. www.boneheadperformance.com-gotta run, more to come
Injectors-660cc's- many shops, www.dejontool.com-$300.
3" exhaust, ported EVO 3 maniold and 02 housing. I am using the MAF-Translator for fuel control/$200. Walbro 255 pump/$100.-AFPR/$150. www.fullthrottlespeed.com
I do not have a HP goal and this is some of what I have done or am doing. 500HP is a lot, even more if you think you can get it at the wheels and either way it won't be cheap.I suggest you have an AWD for that power, I did not look.Good luck. Mark
