I have boost creep, it sucks. My boost was fine settling around 12 PSI pushing as hard as it could. Then I installed a 3" Turbo-back Apex-i N1 exhaust on my 1992 GSX. The boost guage will show numbers slowly rising past 12 PSI, sometimes reaching around 20 PSI. The only other mods I have are a M.B.C. and Intake. How do I correct this...will a O2 sensor housing upgrade and a ported manifold help? You gotta help me out guys.

"[email protected] <~~~~ he makes the o2 dump tube and there great looking i have a picture if anyone is interested in spending like a 130.00 or less compared t0 175 to 300 for a So called fancy dump tube

see him about the dump and any questions really cool guy to deal with

Why bother with porting you will still get some creep might as well do it right and make some bad ass sound =)

Only way to eliminate boost creep is to have the WG hole opened up and install a larger flapper.

I put a ported evo o2 housing on mine and I don't have any problems. My suggestion is to go with the o2 eliminator. But yes an o2 housing will help if not eliminate boost creep.

You can port the heck out of your o2 housing, it will not help but a little bit. Someone with serious boost creep needs to open up the WG hole and add a bigger flapper. Period.

No sense in arguing unless you can tell me how porting the o2 housing gets more air through that little passage way before the flapper door.

Your right no sence in arguing. I don't know why it works but it does. I guess maybe the problem isn't the wastegate hole. Maybe it's the flow be slowed down or backed up after the the opening;)

Well, where do I get a bigger flapper and how do you port the wastegate?

Yes, getting an external gate would fix his problem theoretically. You can spend about $300.00 to get an external set up on your manifold, or buy an o2 housing with external flange... Either way, the turbo has to come off.

Or, you could send your turbo to a shop and have them put in a larger flapper. Charges range fro $65.00 to about $100.00.

Mike is right. The WG passage in the O2 housing is larger than the flapper hole and isnt much of a problem. On my car I got 22 psi minimum with the 14b. I bought a 2.5" SS tubular O2 housing with 1.75" external dump. It'll fow way better than any ported stock castpiece. Guess what it dropped my boost to? 22 psi. Ported the WG exit area. Tht made the biggest difference. Boost down to 17 psi. Ported the flapper hole, boost down to 15 psi. Opened up the exit area even more, down to 14 psi. On stock flapper. O2 housing was lightly ported, and still got 14 psi. there isnt a whole lot you can do for creep with it, but it wont hurt either. IMO, 2g hosuing is even WORSE for creep, contrary to popular belief. The way they put the O2 sensor right in front of where the WG runner meets the main passage is just retarded ;)

well, is there any way to have an external wastegate rerouted back to the exhaust so it wouldn't be so loud, (so less cops are attracted) because E.W. are pretty loud, right?

Agreed, I have one of his O2 dumps on my car right now, and he will be building me a new 3" exhaust in a week or so. He's a great guy to deal with, and his work looks great.
