Reputable company? I was looking at there complete longblock for my turbo conversion. $1427 + Shipping you get, Complete Engine: short block assembled w/complete cyl head, all timing components & oil pump (no oil pan, valve covers, manifolds) This would be for my turbo conversion.

No experience. Just an observation, though -

If that's a used JDM engine, that is extremely expensive, especially considering there's no oil pan, covers, manifolds, or a turbo. If that's a rebuilt engine, that's a decent price.

Thats a standard rebuilt engine. I wish someone would come in and vouch theyre a good company. This is by far the best deal I've come across most all the other vendoes want at least $1500 for a rebuilt short block OMG

Why don't you just buy a stock shortblock from someone for like $4-500? Hell, i'll sell you the block out of my Eclipse. It's gone 11.50's on pump gas and still runs like a raped ape. No balance shafts, timing assembly replaced within the last 10k miles, new water pump.

Thing is I want rebuilt, or in like new condition. I plan on keeping my car a number of more years and would like to make it last. I have a 6-bolt engine already out of a 90 gst, but it ate some metal shavings and almost all the journals through out the top and bottom are scored. I dont really trust local machinest's for a Mitsubishi rebuild. I figure this place must know what theyre doing, but then again I'm asking everyone on the board.

then go get a bare block/crank, and have a machine shop build you a shortblock. Shouldn't cost more than $1500 for everything. That way you know it's brand new and has good parts in it

OR

Buy the REBUILT LONGBLOCK from ImportPerformance and its shipped to my door no hassle for me. Ready to go with a warranty. C'mon now doesnt that sound like a hell of a deal? $1427 Complete longblock ready for the bolt on stuff.

However If I do go this route I will most likely be pulling the head off installing a cometic HG arp head studs and rod bolts with a balance shaft elimination. Button it back up and bolt on the goodies.

I bet shipping is going to be about $500.00, if not, more. Keep that in mind.

Yeah - I've gotten a 110lb transmission shipped from Sasketchawan, CA to here for $110.00 from UPS. Those engine companies usually charge crating fees, handling fees, truck fees, beer fees, etc. etc. etc, though.
