 i was just reading another forum that mad me want to post this...i am in the middle of building my 2g 7 blot and planned on doing pistons, rods. along with getting the head ported polished 1mm oversized vavles kind of a popular thing i see being done but o.k getting back on the subject in another forum i read that you don't need to upgrade from oem unless you plan on going over 500hp but i red that your piston the cyl has to be be.003 to prevent slap. but i also intend on making good power with my 20g ported and clipped and plains are to go with a 2600lb clutch but i also heard that helps the crack do a lil walking?

o.k so what do i do to help keep the crank from running on me? and i also need to know how i go about getting my pitons and rods done without totaly getting ####ed i have a couple of local shops around town but none of them know what dsm stands for let alone how to work on one.
well eny and all info you can give me about eny of the above would be really appreciated.
thats 20ggst

You read the post I was looking for info on for pistons.
Was that a Fruedian slip asking about "crack walking". Haha..LOL. Yes it's an evil drug that will track you down. back to your questions I will have to leave the crank walk to others more informed.
The .003" was the tolerance for the Wiseco pistons. JE's expand more and thus more slap. That's about all I have learned so I will back off and read. Thanks, Mark

if theyre a good machinist, theyre a good machinist. Everything youll purchase comes with specs of what they need to be run at, a good machinist knows how to set the proper clearances etc. You reading different threads, about different products and slapping all the information together. If you plan on over 450whp, i honestly wouldnt bother building ur 7-bolt, but doing a 6bolt swap. If you dont plan on making lotsa power, which it doesnt seem you should be because you dont seem to know much right now, just do a stock rebuild if its necessary.

If your really worried, send the motor to someone like Bj's, magnus, etc. Say heres my stuff, this is what i wanna do with the car, now build a motor accordingly and give them your money.

With what you posted and how you posted it I would have someone build my engine for me that knows what they are doing. You are better off spending the extra money and having it done rite the first time.

I'm doing nothing but tearing down the 6-bolt. The shop will be machining and assembling. I am supplying the parts. I am looking for information. So far haven't got 3 guys to agree on anything much!! LOL. i want an improvement over stock but I am not lookin fo a HP nmber. I have a 50 trim for a turbo with the usual mods. This is a casual job as my '93's motor is fine with 109k miles right now. I am set on the '91 rods and the Wiseco's. Each is better than what the '93 has stock. Thanks, Mark
