i just installed my a/f guage to my ecu and its says its running lean and won't move from their but my egt says that im running normal at 1350f, what can be wrong with the a/f guage
could it be my rear or front o2 sensors
i have 67,000 miles and i haven't replaced my o2 sensors
thanx

make sure you tapped the correct wire at the ecu. if it does not cycle at all that maybe you're problem.

Try using some of the many DSM resources to check your wiring.

Stupid answer? It's common knowledge that the A/F meter from autometer is pretty much usless for DSM's. Putz.

air fuel gauges should be used as a warning gauge not a tuning tool. you're logger is worthless *during* a tuning run. you can glance at you're a/f gauge to see if you are lean or rich for that matter. to say a/f gauges are worthless is asinine.

I disagree with both statements. If you are logging around and have a passanger hold the datalogger they will be able to recognize a spike in knock count and you will be able to let off. However with most a/f gauges you are unable to tell if you are running a .75 too lean or a .92 too rich. The best method would be to buy a wideband 02 sensor so you can tell your exact a/f. You would not believe what a helpful tuning tool that is. For bigger turbos I would consider it almost a necessity.

Listen you guys give some people the idea that all gauges but boost are not needed. Having a buddy assist during a logging run is ideal. however not always realistic. Im sure most people log alone. im not arguing that a a/f gauge is not accurate because it is. All im saying is that its useful at a glance to see if you are running lean when driving or logging alone. you and you're little wisemen friends need to stop telling people not to put gauges in there cars. its a ridiculous thing to tell people.

the factory o2 sensor is very inaccurate. a wide band accurately measures you're air fuel ratio beyond what a factory o2 can.
