ok Ppls here is the situation........I have a 2g talon Tsi AWD.......right now its broken and i want to rebuild it and get it running by summer so I am weighing these 2 options to find out which 1 will be cheaper to go with.........Im looking for 420-460whp if possible
Option 1:
I found a 6bolt long block for $1150(fresh OEM rebuild).......Buy it do either a 2.3L stroker or regular 2.0 rebuild(weisco.....).Now condering the amount to send the bottom end to the shop to get it bored, honed and machine the pistons and rods and then buy some other parts like flywheel aand some other 6bolt parts i need.Since im doing a 6 bolt swap...And also i will be rebuilding the head

Option 2:
Gather up $2300 and order a built short block from SBR and get my 2g top end rebuilt and put it on.But then i have to buy a whole lot more parts from a 6 bolt engine for the swap

I personally am going to buy a junkyard 6 bolt and then have it rebuilt. This is the cheapest I found, if you get a deal on the engine and plus you can choose exactly how you want the engine built.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 6 bolt I picked up from someone in the classifieds. I ended up paying $550 for a complete long block w/ intake manifold and throttle body. I also got ARP head studs and a Cometic head gasket.

I'll probably end up spending $500 to $600 at the machine shop getting the block bored over .020, hot tanked, redecked, crank was magnafluxed and polished, head will be redecked and valve guides checked. Rods will be balanced and shot peened. Crank might get balanced.

I spent another $1250 with SBR picking up wiseco pistons, timing belt kit, ARP main studs, ARP rod bolts, water pump, gaskets, Clevite bearings, front case cover, and a ton of other misc stuff needed.

$200 for a fidanza 6 bolt aluminum flywheel and gonna reuse my clutch for now and toast it out.. :)

So I'm looking at around $2400 w/ a complete built bottom end, a cleaned and reworked head w/ some very mild porting done by myself and I still have a bunch of things to sell to try and recoup some of the money as I have a 7 bolt that just needs to be rebuilt w/ a topline kit.

If you want it done fast, spend the money. This project is taking WAY longer than I first estimated as it grew and grew.. heh
