Wastegate Questons

ok so right now My car has a super 16g on it and I want to switch to an external wastegate due to the fact that my car is auto and inbetween shifts the boost raises like 3 or 4 more pounds than its set at. But im not sure what will need to be done to accomplish this. Would I be able to run my same turbo now with maybe just a mod or something?? And also what will I have to do manifold wise?? Will I have to buy a new one or can it some how be welded onto my stock one??

You can modify your existing manifold, but it would probably be better to get another one already designed for an external setup. Turbo-wise, you'll need to either weld your wastegate hole shut or use an O2-housing mounted external wastegate and just remove the wastegate actuator arm. I have an extra turbine housing with a welded wastegate that was set up for an external if you want me to take a picture of it to show you what I'm talking about.

yea that would be great if you could send me a picture of that...? also what is a cheap manifold to use that will still work with my super 16 g?

The way I did it that's much cheaper is buy a 34mm wastegate flapper, for your internal, port out wastegate passage and weld the flapper on. You could also put an atmospheric dump o2 housing on if you wanted, I have one of those too. A lot of people I know have done this as an alternative to the external $400 external wastegate.
