to see pics go to ebay motor and then type in( eclipse intake) would post pics but wont let me save them in jpeg

Yo, look in my profile and check out my "old" setup with the stock sidemount I/C.

You see its a "Half upper pipe" of sorts. It only cost me $20 bucks.

Just get:

-1 45 deg exhaust pipe. 2.5" in diameter.

-1 1 3/8"-2.5" reducer coupler.

-1 2.5" coupler

-1 2G Throttle body elbow (I got mine free)

-Clamps, of course.

Put it all together like this:

Bolt on the 2g TBE.

Slip the 2.5" coupler onto the TBE with a clamp.

Slip the pipe into the coupler and clamp that.

On the other end of the pipe, slip the reducer coupler on, and attach it to the blow off valve pipe.

There you have it!

On another note, if you hack a N/A intake pipe (Which are usually made of thin aluminum) you will have to make a "Bead" around the end of the pipe in order for the coupler to NOT blow off. This requires TIG welding, or a spool-gun.

Also the "Half upper pipe" mod was great for me, knowing that I was going to upgrade to a "Buschur style" short route pipe FMIC.
The Half pipe is one of the 4 bends you will need for the FMIC later on, negating buying stuff twice!

Have Fun!

i can get a tool for 10$ to bend the pipe at the end to make the beed or what ever its called so that not a prob .

im upgrading my car to over the winter so i sorta want to keep it cheap and universal you car looks good the intake going to your turbo were did you get it and what turbo are you using also your venting your bov with out a gm translater how ?

did you see any gain in doing the 2g elbow with the "half uicp" Just want to know because it pretty cheap to do without doing much custom work

Yeah, a small gain is realized just due to increasing the inlet at the t-body to 2.5".

I am venting due to the use of an HKS VPC. ;)

That intake was made from NAPA bends. 4" 90, 4"-3" reducer, 3" 90, cut and welded.

Thanks for the props.

Turbo I am using now is a PTE GT32E

You can get pipe beading or flaring tools through pretty much any tool supply company. Take a look at someone like Harbor Freight.
