i did a headgasket job in the summer, and i got done maybe a month and a half ago. since then the car hasnt been driven more than 10 miles. After i finished, i changed the oil, let it run for an hour or two, then changed it again with a new filter. I drained the anitfreeze before the hg, and then filled it after. When i changed the oil the second time, i also changed the coolant. my question is how long should the oil stay in the coolant? there is oil in the coolant as of now, and im hoping that is whats left of before. if i change the fluid again, should oil still be in there? im just worried that the headgasket didnt take. it does blow some white smoke, but im thinking thats because the car hasnt had more than 20 miles put on it in 2 years, and thats condensation in the exhaust.

Yea a warped head would probably be my first guess. Did you get the head machined? I'm rebuilding my engine and I had the head machined and had new valve stem seals installed. I didn't even think that my head was warped but the guy at the machine shop wich I trust said that it was warped and it was a good thing that I had it milled.

Your headgasket was most likely not the reason you have oil in the coolant. It is most likely from the oil cooler. I would check that out.

zigYFZ200 the filter screws into the oilcooler which uses cooant to coolthe oil. the 2 never mix as they run through the cooler in separate channels. if the filter is put on too tight it can crush the cooler and crack the runners/channels so that oil and coolant can come together. mark
