2g pistons on 1g rods, price?

Are you asking how much it would cost for the machining to get the pistons to fit on the rods or how much to pay for them already assembled?

I paid $100 to have my rods machined and the pistons hung, in Ann Arbor, MI.

So for about $350 total inc. purchase of pistons.

i.e. cheaper than forged pistons, and I don't have to worry about different coefficent of expansions

I've got a set of 1g rods/pistons and 2g rods/pistons if you're interested. PM me and we can dicuss a price.

I mean to have them machined, i have the rods and the pistons too, machine shops are telling me $120 to 125

I think that's a little steep you know, that's why i am asking.

Also Do i need to have them put the piston on the rod? A machine shop told me to just bring the rods and pins.

I've also heard them mention something about it being full floating or whatnot, i'm really confused and i even printed out the measures and reference diagram and i am still getting quoted $120+

Well i just want to know before i actually do it to not get ripped.

Thanks!

Eagle rods = $350
Ross/Weisco pistons = $350-400

Why not pay $100 more and be done with it?

Not all machinists seem to be good on following directions on setting clearances. Cast pistons seem to be a have a little bit more leeway and dont produce piston slap as easy.

i got my pistons for 85 from someone who just got them back from a machine shop, they were checked for any damage and cleaned. rings are 140 i beleive, then 100 to machien rods.

then i could go eagles and weiscos and pay almost 700. even then im risking shatty machine work.

i went with 1g/2g setup because its a cheap proven bottom and and will push the turbo i want it to. seems to be more forgiving and pretty straight forward.
