Engine life & Max HP????

Hey I have an 97 A/T GSX. I was just wondering how much HP the STOCK engine could withstand and how many miles should it be good for. I have 106k as of now!!! I heard from a few people that turbo cars usually have half the life of regular engines ...is this true?? I just want to make sure before I go off and spend 2500 on a rebuilt engine...if I can squeeze another year or two out of it then I'll just wait!

it varies from motor to motor obviously but theres lots of guys running high miles on theres and doing good. I had 150+k on my 7 bolt and it ran great with a 20g. If anything i would be worried about the duriability of the auto tranny under high power

Oh and i wouldnt say turbocharged motors last half as long, but they do need special care and to be more attentive to services, i mean after all they are doing more work then most v8s ever do :laugh: power wise

I have 129k on my 91 gsx and I'm also running a 20g with 20 psi on the street.
