Dual SMIC on a 2G car??

I am trying to keep my car as "sleeper" as possible... I'm going all black piping underhood... 1G BOV (possibly sprayed black)... Big T-28 so the turbo looks stock... and a ported EVO III manny so that the manny looks stock... I thought about dual side mounts... but I couldn't figure out how it would work off of a single turbo? if I am pushing 18psi with a T-28 I am assuming I wouldn't need a "KING-KONG" skyline intercooler... how would a dual sidemount set-up work? and what are some suggestions for the afforementioned turbo and boost level? I would LIKE to keep the "rice-boy repellant" FMIC out of the equasion... but if it would be more bennificial to run one... then so be it... I just want to suprize the #@%#@%#@%#@% out of people... the feeling on the street is "if you have a FMIC you are fast..." and nobody will race you... even if you are like this one kid I met down in Little Rock... he had a 99 or 2000 Civic SI... with a FMIC... don't get me wrong... he EVENTUALLY mated it to a T3/T04... but I herd people talking about how stupid fast his car was... for a month... I finally met him... he told me he had his intercooler installed, but didn't have his turbo done yet... but like I said... "FMIC = image of fast..." anyway... sorry for the ramble... any input would be appreciated... thanx...

Just bite the bullet and get an FMIC, to keep it from getting attention have it anodized black to maintain the "radiator" appearance. There is a vendor that offers that as an option but I don't recall who. Hope this helps.

ps- Notice I said have it "anodized" and not paint it, painting would severely reduce the intercooler's ability to exchange heat.

ok... so I guess now the question is... keepin in mind that this is my summer daily driver... and I want to push 18psi with a T-28... what is the most cost effective FMIC? I can get the Skyline FMIC kit for only $900... I think that core might be too large for my goals... but would it be smart to pay MORE money for a SMALLER core? I am not thinking, or even trying to pull 4sec. passes at 300+mph... but I would like to go faster... not seting goals... just going to see where I wind up...

Extreme Technologies makes a thick core sidemount for first gens, but I'm not sure about second gens. You might look into it.

dejontool has an upgraded sidemount for 2gs. The bodykit helps with the whole sleeper look in a way.

I mean 90% of cars with bodykits that you see are just ricers.

guys, he said that he didnt want a FMIC because it is like "ricer repellant." the body kit/altezzas are to make the ricers think he is one of them...someone who can be chalenged by them/slow.

Why not just go with a supra side mount? They've been proven to work damn near as well as some FMIC's and you can pick one up for ~$150 (probably a little cheaper if you shop around). I think that would be the perfect solution to a sleeper with a T-28

I am glad that someone read into what I was trying to say... the altezzas... carbonfiber... hehe... and that is one of the reasons that I have yet to put a drop on my car... 1)still looking for the perfect coil-over... and 2)Ricers ALWAYS have somthing still to do... rims, drop, alignment AFTER cutting their springs... so instead of #@%#@%#@%#@%ing up my allignment... I am going to keep it stock height for a little longer... and AFTER I bleed the ricers for all I can... (word will spread fast not to race me... at least for money) then I can pick up a NEW front clip... sell that Blitz front end to some kid with an RS... get my coil-overs... and stop playing with ricers... but you all have to admit... it IS kinda fun... just don't rev enough to spool on the line... I have had people decide not to race me on 2 different occasions because I unloaded the BOV before we launched...

I installed one on my car but now I have a front mount so mine is for sale. I saw the post you wrote and it says you want a new one. That will probably be quite a bit harder to find.

i couldn't help it but i gotta say that i am all about the sleeper's. i am not claiming that i have a fast eclipse, it's only a 98 gs with nothing but an aem intake. anyways, a month ago i was sitting at a stop light when this guy pulls up next to me in a white eclipse(same body style) with black mirrors and door handles, and starts reving his engine and letting his exaust purr. i was thinking, ok he's got the same car as me with the exeption that i don't have exaust yet. if nothing else i'll find out who is the better driver is. so the light turns green and we both gun it, and to my suprise this car takes off like a jet being launched of a carrier......what the %!@#!!! there is no way in hell that i am that bad of a driver, so i am determined to find out what the hell he has in that thing. i end up running into him a couple miles down the road at a 7-11 and it turns out that this thing is a 96 gsx dressed up in sheeps clothing, looking just like a stock rs. this guy even removed the rear wiper! just thought i would share that with you guys.
