Hey guyz, I got a few quick questions that I would like to ask. I have recently put in a GM MAS in a blow thru setup, an AFC2, and 680cc injectors. I know the 680's are big for the 16g I have right now, but I got them so I would be prepared for the 50 trim that is going in, in the next few months. My problem is that my car idle's like shit. I have had a local DSM shop (Victor Research) tune it the best they can, but they said this is as good as they can get it tuning with both the AFC and GM MAS. If I also installed a fuel pressure regulator, would this by any chance help make my idle any better or easier to tune? If so, what is a good AFPR to buy? Thanx for your help in advance! :dsm:

The Walbro 255HP pump will over-run the stock FPR. That is why your cars idle is poor because the stock FPR can't send enough fuel back to the tank, which raises your base fuel pressure. You should notice a significant difference by installing an AFPR and resetting your base fuel pressure.

yes you nees a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. your static fuel pressure with the stock regulator is to low. with those big injectors a low static pressure will cause fuel to blub out the injectors, kind of poor out instead of spray. does the car run rich? even at high rpms with big injectors and not enough fuel pressure will cause more fuel to run out of the injectors then if they were working at a high pressure causing fuel to spray out properly. i dunno, that could be it, maybe not :talon:

An AFPR is a very good idea. The best tuning in the world probably can't compensate for it. I'm sure if you searched around you could find a good price. It sure Sounds like you have good intentions; I'm sure once the regulator is replaced you'll be much more satisfied!
+ you wont be running like crap ;)

thanx guyz, exactly what I was looking for. I will be purchasing one very shortly. DAMN i love tuners, LOL. :dsm:

just make sure you get a adjustable one, imo with those big injectors you should run about 45psi static and 1lb fuel pressure per 1lb boost
