Where can I get transmission parts cheaper than full price at the dealership? I used to get cost at the dealer, but my hookup isn't there anymore so now I have to pay full price. I don't think shep or tre will just sell parts outright? ( last year when I asked both of them they both said no )

Also, I understand shep trannies and tre trannies hold up a lot better to abuse ... but what exactly is different about them? Are the gears treated somehow to strengthen them? Are they just assembled perfectly to spec? I emailed tre these questions a while back and no response. I'm just curious as to why these are supposedly stronger if they use the same parts ... as well as where to get parts if I decide to just do it myself again. :thumb:

A local had a 3300 dollar full race tre tranny, the shift linkage binded up or something like that. He thought it was the tranny, so he gutted the trans and sold the shell.

I bought the box of gears and shit off him, what part are you looking for?

pretty much everything ... what kind of condition are the parts in? How much for everything you have?

get ahold of josh jones from jnztuning, he bought most of conicelli's parts inventory, and can get u any mitsu oem parts you need. Im not sure whos supplying shep and tre, but i think shearer makes shift forks for shep.

it seemed like he got the box of tre parts for cheap, so i wrote wow to show my disbelief that the guy just sold a bunch of tre parts for cheap. maby i was wrong-----------

maybe they're cryotreated? I'm gonna cryo everything in my tranny when I rebuild it.

yea that's the only thing I could think of that tre and shep do to make the gears stronger ... however on sheps site it lists cryo treating as an additional option which costs like $250. ( on the shep racing tranny he uses in his car at the bottom of the page .. ) I guess I'm just asking what makes shep and TRE better than a normal transmission shop if they are using stock parts and just following stock specs? ( also where I can get the parts for cheaper than full price at the dealership would be nice to know )

Well i'm sure if everyone knew their seceret then they wouldn't be tops dogs any more. Do you see forced performance handing out information on turbos? No, so people wont copy them.

yea but turbo parts are actually designed from scratch and engineered perfectly by the company. A transmission on the other hand that uses mitsubishi oem parts is not ... that's what I'm asking. DO THEY USE OEM PARTS OR HAVE THE PARTS CUSTOM MADE?
