I think one person on the board has one.

Yeah I do, vaguely remember someone posting something about a magnus short block. magnus has a new intake manifold, on there site also. looks like the old one, but the runners are not adjustable. i guess i will be my own Ginnie pig, and just order it. ill see for myself when it gets here.

The Magnus 4G64 is a 6 bolt, fully built, says right there on their website. There is however a 7 bolt 4G64 out there too in certain cars. I have read that the 7 bolt '64 swap into a 2G is easier than a 6 bolt '64, BUT you can only put a 6 bolt '64 into a 1G. There is a 16 page thread on DSMTalk about this swap. It's VERY in depth too.

i must have missed the part, where it says its a 6 bolt. i still dont see it,but thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure Magnus only deals with 6 bolts. They don't even bother with 7 bolts, and I don't think they make an exception for the 4G64 engines. It should be a direct swap into your 1G. Keep us updated... I want to know all about your swap.

I believe they only build 6-bolt shortblocks as well. This should go in the same way a 6-bolt would go in. So check out the 1g in a 2g on their page to get an idea. Also if you are ever planning to get this, make sure your tranny can handle it. I read that our trannys have trouble staying together with all that torque.

You'll have to ask Marco if he ships it with the front case all ready to go.
You either need DOHG 2.4 galant cam gears or adjustable gears (6mm higher deck throw off cam timing).

Other than that :thumb:

Yes I do have 4g64 sitting at my buddy’s house right now. I don’t have any impressions yet it will be installed over this winter. That’s if HighPsi91 doesn’t throw it in his Galant Vr4 project when I’m not looking ;)

I’m expecting very big things out of this car now and I really hope it delivers. I did a 12.1@117 on pump gas I can’t wait to see what I will get with this new motor and c16. Marco says 50 more hp and 100 more lb\ft of torque and I believe him. All the parts are there Haltech, fuel, big turbo etc. Now it’s just a matter of coming up with a few more dollars for some extra things like the cam gears and a rebuilt trans and I will be good to go. Even though I’m a really impatient guy there is no rush on this project. I now FINALLY have another car to get me to work everyday and there is no need to have the car built and not move for 3 months because its snowing. Trust me as soon as its together and running well you guys will know about it.

good deal:thumb: so adjustable cam gears or galant cams gears are required.
