Anybody running/heard of FP camshafts?

There's a thread on the Talk in the parts section I beleive about them. Check it out. It's comp cams made to their spec.

i called them last week and got some info on them. supposedly they idle better than hks and have more top end. somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 horsepower. they drop right in with no degreeing too. im on it as soon as more come in.

I think I'm getting ready to get me a pair of their 272 equivilants... I'm going crazy as I just got a very nice 7.5K budget to build my stock 1G up... So in a few months I'll let everyone know how these cams are...

I have them in the car now, Had them for over a week, but just got the car running this weekend.

Right now im slowly re-adjusting my wastegate arm, then ill put the boost controller back in and turn the boost up. Nasty rain is slowing me down though, even before the cams WOT would get real iffy in the rain in 2nd.

So far though the cams rock. Everything above about 1700rpms is better. Below that has just a hint of power loss, but barely noticable. Without having cranked the boost back up to 22psi yet, the best part about these cams is how smooth the car feels now upon accel and decel. It made the car seem like before it was all choppy and now its how the factory should have had it. Im very pleased with them so far and boost is only at .6 bar right now.

BTW, it took almost a month to get them cause I was on the waiting list for the first shipment. I dont know how long it will take now though.

My buddy has them (IcedEarth15) waiting to be installed. I'm sure he'll wander across this thread once he gets his car running again.

I got a set of FPCAM2's from the first batch, and installed them into my 2.4L G4CS setup. I still need to put the engine back in the car yet, so I can't yet tell you how they run...but as soon as I get it running, I will post my impressions.

please do. this is EXACTLY what im doing.

Thanks for the replies. I will be curious to see what your impressions are of them, hopefully they are a great alternative (and cheaper) of the HK$'s.

Please check back with your opinions!
Thanks! :thumb:

I just purchased a FP3065 and the FPCam2's today... Like I said... I'll definitly let you all know how they run once I get the motor back in the car..

If this weather holds up ill put some 110 in and go to the track this sunday. Ill post up the difference between my last 110 run on stock cams (slipping clutch was killing me then, and will be still :p ) Last time I ran a 12.7 @ 111.7.
