Hey you DSM Wiseman where are ya? OK here is the problem... My car is a full '91 6 bolt motor in a '97 body. Everything was fine one day so i go ahead and punch the car. I now can not start the car. I have replaced everything involving the ignition/spark possible except CAS. The car will crank and turn over but not fire. I have incredible spark in all cylinders, new plugs, wires, etc. I even have a fuel pump kill switch in the case i was flooding the chambers too much, no go there. Timing is dead on or good enough to get the car fired, have never touched timing since the dyno session, cam gears are dead on. The other problem is that on cranking it does a hesitation crank, like a draining battery type of crank but it's not the battery, and then crank good again until the hesitation starts up again.. The battery has been fully charged 3x, and even on hot-wire from another truck. Everything is pointing now to the CAS since that is the only thing remaining that i have not replaced, that involves ignition/start up. The funny thing is how can it run one minute and the next never fire up again. I will not buy another used CAS so i will buy a brand new one ($400-500), but before i do i want to make sure it is that. I have tried every imaginable thing to fire this car up, NOTHING. What other things can i try or check?? Help is appreciated.

It takes 3 things for the car to start and run.

Fuel
Compression
Spark

You said you are getting spark to the plugs, timing/cams are in line.

Either ECU isn't firing the injectors or the kill switch for the fuel pump is shorted out not allowing fuel in.

Check to make sure you are getting fuel into the cylinders. If not then Defiant is dead on with the ECU problem.

The hesitation when it tries to crank sounds like worn brushes in the starter.

UPDATE: switched the firing order on the coil pack from 4123 to 2341 and the car fires up everytime, BUT now i have a very low idle (400-600rpms) but is steady/smooth running. I just can not gas the car, it will not rev. I have played with low throttle from 1k-3k and leaned out the fuel alot more and have returned to stock fuel psi of 43, Still can not rev the car. Any suggestions on this???
