ive been in the market for a set of cams for a while... i havent been able to decide between crower and hks... but anyway, i was searching ebay for a set of either cams and i found this set of "RVM" cams. I know RVM makes good quality knock off products... i've seen there intake pipe and it looks the same as injen. Anyway, has anyone used these or know someone who uses them? quality?

I wouldn't try a knock off product inside my engine. When it comes to engine internals I would go with something that has some quality to it. Not to mention the brand name items are not much higher in price, if you look around.

Amen. If you want to pick up some clear corners for your headlights or maybe an inexpensive intake, by all means, save some money and shop eBay. These things aren't likely to frag your engine when they fail. However, when it comes to internals, you really want to stick to either OE stuff or a brand that's widely known to produce a quality product. If their an honest business that's up and coming, then good for them. But let someone else be their guinea pig.

There have been a lot of discussions related to camshaft alternatives. Many DSM tuners prefer the HKS's, and for good reason. Unfortunately, they aren't cheap. Refer to the "CAM alternatives to HKS?" thread.

Without input from someone who's used them before, it's tough to know what you're in for when you start the car. You may find that you get great top end performance, but idle like an American muscle car. In which case, you might as well have bought the 272/272 combo.

Everyone wants to save money. Myself included. Just be real cautious of where you trim the budget.

Let us know which camshafts you end up with. Of course, if you do decide to go these cams then tell us all about them or submit a review on DSM Reviews. :laser:
