2G vacuum you pull at idle?

my car must be screwed, i show 12" at 1000 now that i got the car to idle at 750 the vac reading is 5:mad:

yeah I show about 15 when I start the car up
but I prolly have major vac, boost leaks. I haven't really paid attention once it's warmed up.

I must've messed up my boost gauge installation somehow. When I first tested it by just attaching the gauge to the vaccuum hose and seeing what readings it gave me, I was getting vaccuum readings.

Now that it's all set up, I'm at 1-2psi when idling. Originally, it'd go up to 10psi with WOT like it should, but now it'll only go up to 5psi.

What to do, what to do.

i hear 18-22 is normall... dunno about cammed cars....

My car is all over the place, depending on whatever, it ranges from 18-21

22-23 when i am in the bay area (san fran sea level)

15-16 when i am in the mountains where i live in oregon (we are at almost 5000 feet)

ok im really starting to think that my intake or exhaust cam is off a tooth. I have gone over every vac line *removed all* except the 2 that come off the manifold for the FPR and BOV. at 750 rpms, my car sounds like it has huge cams in it. this low vacuum condition is making my vpc dump an ungodly amount of fuel at idle. my corrections at idle are ridiculous.

I would guess that it was your intake. The same thing happened to me. I was off one tooth and was only getting 5 inhg. Car was all pissed off!!

bastard..... NUI im going to GET you:mad: never let rally car dsm racers work on you're car.

Mine is at 18 when the fan is off. When the fan is on it goes to about 15-16. The fan runs very often here is AZ. Especially with the AC on. A lot of times when I turn the AC off the fan goes off as well. Is it normal for the fan to affect the vacuum that much?

Mine is about 5 inches at idle with crower race cams and the gears retarded 2 degrees.
