I'm just wondering how much horsepower will i gain for every PSI i raise my turbo with a boost controller. I've heard roughly 23 horsepower for every PSI .. i could be totally off..
anybody know?????

i believe its actually more like 7-12, but thats with proper supporting mods, without those raising the boost is just silly and you will break alot of stuff. i dunno how modded your car is , but be careful when you up the boost. especially on a stock system with possible high miles.

yeah yeah yeah true i know.. 16 is the what the stock fuel pump can handle.. i'm aware.. i was just curious.. because i was planning on raising it to 15.

it ranges from car to car setup vs setup. I have seen 20 horsepower per pound of boost at the wheels and to contrast that at 10 to 12 psi our stock set up only gives about a 60 hp gain

That would be a rather optimistic estimate for stock DSM's. The answer that Laguna gave you is the more accepted rule of thumb. However, we might be able to give you a more accurate "prediction" if we had a vehicle profile to refer to. Plus you'll find that the more knowledgeable DSMtuners will respond to your questions if they can just "click" as opposed to having to ask for it. ;)

generally, the amount of hp/psi is about 11hp/1psi. generally. there are cases where you will get more per psi, but thats not on our motors...

It all depends on your setup and tuning.a stock dsm with 9:4:1 cr wont see as much increase as a car with an upgraded turbo, cams, intake manifold, more agressive a/f ratio, intake, exhaust and so on. Its more about air than preasure.

A stock dsm's compression ratio is either 7.8:1 (6-bolt) or 8.5:1 (7-bolt) .
