Alright, I have done a little research on this and I am confused about some of things I have read. I am about to buy a downpipe that eliminates the cat.

I keep reading that having no cat may trip the CEL because the o2 sensor is not present. If this happens? What can you do to make it go away?

I read on DSMtalk to use a rather large resistor inline with the o2 sensor...anybody verify this? I also read with a datalogger you can erase the CEL when it comes on. Is there any negative effects from the CEL coming on?

I had the same problem, and all I did was strap the 2nd O2 sensor to your exhaust under the car and it will read fresh air. If you put it bac in the exhaust with no cat it wont read any difference in between the two sensors and it will throw a CEL. But if you strap it to the outside of the exhaust it thinks the cat is still there and doing one hell of a job cleaning up those exhaust gases. I've been running my car like this for at least 2 years now and haven't had a problem since.

Wow, just strap it to the downpipe and the o2 just reads it from there. How exactly are you doing that? Doesnt sound like a bad idea. And about the emissions thing, yeah i know. I just past emissions so no emissions test for 2 more years:D

I just straped it up there with 3 metal zip ties, you have to check on it every once in awhile to make sure it hasn't came loose and is draging. Just make sure it's straped on there good and tight.
