4g63 N/A, any potential?

Well i have a buddy who is into All Motor cars, he wants to put in a 4g63 N/A in a mitsubishi mirage, i was wondering if these engines are capable of making good aspirated power like honda engines.

what year mirage?? he should just drop a Turbo 4g63 and it's cheaper.. talk yer friend into going turbo i'm pretty sure he'll love it.. and i they don't respond as well n/a as hondas do

Not really. The time and development is there with Honda engines, but nobody bothers with the 4G63 in N/A form because it's a turbo motor mostly. You would be like the Honda guys starting 10 years ago.

You can make some power N/A but it's very expensive as your into crazy head work and high compression which doesn't make for a good daily driver.

i always wandered how much nitrous the 6 bolt n/a motors could handle

of course this coming from someone who blew a 4g63 n/a 6 bolt motor - spun rod bearing...

Well, from what I have heard, the G4CS block(2.4l sohc 8.7:1) that people use to build 6 bolt 2.4 liters, when combined with a 4G63 head, makes 12:1 compression, this sucks for turbo, but it means that for 250 bucks you could have a 2.4 liter dual cam high compression engine with strong internals. The idea is interesting. Then get some 284 cams and a nice header...200 whp is a feasible/attainable goal.
