I have a 95 Eclipse GSX, so far everything is stock. I want to know how much PSI I can go with, intercooled, on 93 octane (that is the highest I can get around here). Thanks :p

It would be cool if you could IM me to answere me too, i'll be checking back here like every 5 mins though LOL. peace

I ran my best times at 16psi with the stock setup. (Plus boost controller and 1G BOV, of course) on 93 octane.

Everyones car is different, however.

Leon, this thread is about T25 equipped cars, you might be giving people the wrong idea here who don't know your car.

For those who don't know, Leon's car is a built 1G that has set the record for a 14b equipped car, running a 12.01, I think.

So people, don't go thinking you can run 22-23psi and make 340hp on your stock T25 2G. :D

Leon that's a sweet ass setup. You can come over anytime and rebuild my engine.

As for the amount of boost your running this is going to vary as they said. My suggestion would be to at the very least use the VFAQ article on installing a Knock LED in the dash. You can run 93 octane and test drive it at different boost levels under different conditions. I would ultimately recommend a pocketlogger but sometimes the money just isn't there. The knock LED will atleast show you when the engine starts to knock. But it won't show you fuel starvation or anything else under high boost.

Hope this helps

Let me get this right..when does the fuel actually come into play? Dont mean to highjack the thread but i dont really understand the whole Octane thing.

I can get some 104 at the local track but i want my car to be fast on regular gas. 93 that is. But i also plan on upgrading my turbo, whole fuel system and all the supporting mods. So does that mean i can still only get up to 18 or so psi without knock? Or does the Octane really only come into play with what mods you have done to your car? Any explanation would be helpful thanks.

I ran between 15 & 16 on the stock setup, with only a controller and UICPw/1G valve. That was the point at which fuel cut would hit. I would say keep it there. You will probly hit cut, before you blow the engine, but its always better to be safe than sorry.

Not exactly. It shows when the ECU is pulling the timing because of knock. It doesn't give you any kind of knock count. I wouldn't recommend using it as a tuning tool.

Higher octane feul is just another "mod" you can do to your car at any time. Like nitrous. Hell I can put 115 oct in my completely stock car right now if I wanted...

Ive been running 15-17.5 on mine daily since I got my big 16g with the stock SMIC. The only thing I notice is that it does pull timing if the car sits idling for a good amount (on a hot day) of time building up heat under the hood.. when I take off it hits full boost at about 3300 and it will sometimes bog down and pull timing. Its a result of pulling all the hot-ass air from under my hood into the motor.
Im loving the cooler days lately.. all 4 tires spin 1st and 2nd (this isnt high rpm launches either!)

now i might sound crazy but i have a 90 gs turbo eclipse with 102000 miles and a new turbo.. i have installed a autometer boost gauge and a mbc..i can run 20 psi on 93 no problem .. because when i bougt my gauge i thought i wuold never go over 20 i cant tell you what psi im at exactly when the needle passes 20.. the qusstion i have does this mean my car has something interally aftermarket or something else i have overlooked.the turbo says tdo5 on it so i no that stock and i also have a crak in my manifold.. small but it does leek. i raced a guy last night with a galant vr4 with a small 16g and he was at 17psi and i was at 16.5..he took me off the line but i pulled and caught up at about 100 mph..he also has a ful 3 in exaust intake and a upgraded fuel system that includes a walbro pump and 550 injectors he failded to tell me that he had a 16g but after he beat me till 100 and then i caught him i asked him y his car was so much faster than mine (cus he had 4 peeps in there and they werent thin..he also has awd which in my opinion is great off the line but then your screwed..except with my 235 tires on my car i break the tires loose at about45 mph in second..haha its insane ) and he replied well i have a 16g .... so i slapped him and laffed in his face.. jk thanks

I dont see any mention of a datalogger... Anyone can run over 20 psi stock, but that doesnt mean you arent knocking like hell and an accident waiting to happen. I hope you se the difference there, and I'm just misreading the post...

On my 2g with t25 I datalogged every boost level I could get. 16 was the safest, and the fastest at the track on pump gas. Race gas is a different story, on any turbo.
