Ya im upgradein my stock turbo to an evo 16g and i have like around 100k miles on the car and i was just wondering what things i should check on the engin to make sure that i dont blow it up like gaskest and and ummm wellanything i should really check thanx

you really should have some other supporting mods, like an exhaust and a boost gauge. you don't have anything listed in your profile so im guessing its all stock? before modifing any motor you should always do a compression check and a leak down test to find out the condition of your motor.

Ya ya im gettin a full 3"exhaust, rc550s, 255cc fuel pump, dsmlink. just was wondering if i should get anything checked out with the motor befor i start installing this stuff thanx for the info

I'm not a 2G guy, but won't he need a better BOV to run more boost/flow too?

Yeah he will want one.. with those injectors and fuel pump, you're going to want an AFPR and then with the turbo you'll need a new intake as well.
As far as checking your engine.. compression tests can't hurt at all.

haha and that is the reason why you should list all ur mods in ur profile..Because everyone assumes u dont have anything... Good job andrew

Hey if it aint broke dont fix it...I would just run it and if something breaks fix it then..You never know ur motor might hold out for a long time. I wouldnt count on it though.

HAHAHA shit i hope my motor will hold for a little while longer... but ya umm ill have to do that compression test and i do have a 1g BOV and and injen intake haha i should have listed that shit but i just thought that it was too simple to list but i suppose every thing counts....but thanx for the help everyone
Andrew

personaly i wouldnt even go with the evo 16, the small mitsubishi style 16 is a lot more bang for the buck, its about $100 cheaper, not to mention is has been proven that the small 16 has ran faster 1/4 mile times than that of the evo 16, but if ur going to go with the evo 16 i would make sure i you have AFC to protect yourself from running to rich or lean. as far as the bigger fuel pump goes, you dont shouldnt need a bigger pump unless you u plan on running more than 18psi, fuel cut on the stock pump doesnt come until around 19 to 20psi :talon:
